Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Levitate is a fitness application operated by Scot Spinner (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information the Levitate iOS app and website collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Levitate app and to scotsgym.duckdns.org.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we store your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive and store Apple’s private relay address rather than your real one. We also assign your account an account identifier so we can keep your information connected to the correct account.
Fitness and health information. Levitate exists to record training, so most of what we hold is content you enter:
- Workouts, exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, durations and distances you log
- Scheduled and queued workouts, routines, and weekly plans
- Injuries and pain reports you record against specific exercises
- Equipment you own, such as gyms, bands, and machines
Injury and pain records describe your physical condition. We treat this as sensitive information and handle it with the same care as the rest of your account data.
Content you upload. Photos you attach to exercises, documents you add to My Documents, and notes you write.
Diagnostic information. Server error records may include your account identifier. We use these records to diagnose and fix faults, and keep them for 30 days.
Crash diagnostics. When the app crashes, freezes, or is closed by iOS, Apple’s MetricKit framework prepares a report on your device, and the app sends it to us the next time you open it while signed in. A report contains technical details of the crash or freeze (where in the app’s code it happened, the type of error, and how long a freeze lasted), daily counts of how often iOS closed the app and why, and the app version and build, iOS version, device model, and when it happened. It does not contain your training data or anything you typed, and we do not collect the other performance measurements MetricKit offers, such as battery, memory, or launch time. Crash reports are linked to your account. A report from before you signed in is sent once you sign in, and signing out discards any that have not been sent yet. Apple may also send us crash reports from people who share analytics with app developers; those come with no account attached.
Bug reports. When you report a problem with the bug button or Profile → About → Report a Problem, we receive what you write, a screenshot of the screen you were on (unless you remove it), and diagnostic details: the app version and build, iOS version, device model, which screen you were on, the time, and a short log of the screens you opened and the requests to our servers that failed in the previous 30 minutes. The log records only which screens and which requests, with identifiers removed. It never records what you typed or the contents of your training data. Nothing is sent until you tap Send, the report sheet lists everything that will be included, and the report is linked to your account.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: storing your training data and syncing it across your devices
- To operate the shared exercise catalog, including reviewing items you submit or flag
- To keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse
- To respond when you contact support
- To investigate and fix problems you report from the app
- To find and fix the causes of crashes and freezes
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Levitate runs on servers we operate ourselves, and your training data stays there. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. Apple provides Sign in with Apple and the MetricKit framework that prepares crash reports, under Apple’s own privacy policy. Crash reports go only to our servers; we do not use a third-party crash-reporting service.
Bug reports are the one exception, and only for the report itself. We send each report, including its screenshot, to Anthropic, whose Claude service reads it on our behalf so that it can be sorted: matched to a problem we already know about, or filed as a new one. The record we file in our private issue tracker, hosted by GitHub, is a summary in our own words with the diagnostic details and the failed requests. It does not include what you wrote, your screenshot, or your name, email, or account identifier.
Other people who can see your data
Some parts of Levitate are shared by design. Exercises, movements, and corrections you submit to the public catalog are visible to other users, along with the contributor name attached to them. Your private workouts, logs, injuries, documents, bug reports, and crash reports are not visible to other users. Bug reports and crash reports are seen only by the Levitate team.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves.
Retention and deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app, under Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile and the training data associated with it, including workouts, logs, injuries, equipment, and documents.
Contributions you made to the public exercise catalog may remain, since other users’ routines can depend on them, but they are no longer associated with your account. Backups may retain data for a short period before being overwritten in the normal course of operation. Server error records are kept for 30 days as described above.
Bug reports are kept while your account exists, except their screenshots, which we delete 90 days after the report is sent. Deleting your account deletes your bug reports with it. Summaries already filed in our issue tracker remain, but they contain nothing that identifies you.
Crash reports are deleted 30 days after we receive them, and deleting your account deletes them sooner.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS, and access to the production database is restricted to the service itself. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can view and correct your profile in the app, delete individual entries such as workouts, injuries, or documents, and delete your entire account as described above. Before you send a bug report you can remove its screenshot, and you can hide the bug button under Profile → Preferences. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your information or to object to certain processing. Contact us at levitatesupport@gmail.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Children
Levitate is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact levitatesupport@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
